Lake Maggiore Italy Day 1


We've decided to return to Italy and explore more of the country. Although we loved Lake Garda, it was just too soon to return. So we decided to visit a less touristy lake that has won the hearts of many locals:

                                                             Lake Maggiore!


Our journey began with an early morning flight from Birmingham, which went smoothly just like the last time we flew. As soon as we landed in Italy, we were filled with excitement. The coach ride to our small town of Baveno offered us a magnificent view of the lake.


  

The views were stunning in the late afternoon, and we could see why Lake Maggiore is a favorite among many. It's peaceful and quiet, and we enjoyed strolling along the lakefront.  



Later in the evening, we discovered a beautiful church which we had heard chimes every hour as we had an afternoon swim. The church sits in a tranquil cobbled square and has grand pillars dating back to Roman times. It's a great place to sit for a while and take in the peaceful surroundings. 

Overall we are thrilled to be exploringLake Maggiore and can't wait to see what else this beautiful place has to offer.

Singapore 2018. Day 11: Art trail to retail.........

We were typical Brits abroad this morning, a full English😱.The lounge is stunning so we took a little time to enjoy it. Reading of course. I just love the decor, it feels like it could be home to me. We visited the National gallery of Singapore today. We love art and we love Asia so it seemed like a perfect choice. The gallery was originally the city hall and the Supreme Court. It has now been restored and updated into a stunning gallery,  the new meets old. Not only was the building impressive the art was captivating too. There were numerous galleries displaying some amazing Asian art. Some of the water colours by Lim Chang Hoe would look lovely on our walls. His art was very interesting to us as he returned after a number of years to each place that he had painted and repainted them. Taiwan 2014 Day 2: A day in Taipei

Let me tell you about our adventure-filled day in Taipei! It started with trying to find a place to have breakfast. Taipei is full of quirky cafes but it seemed like they were all hiding from us. After a while, we finally stumbled upon a charming little cafe and got ourselves fueled up for the day ahead.                                                                                      Our first stop was the stunning Lin family mansion and gardens.
