Lavenham 2020 Day 2.

We started our day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel, fueling up for a day of adventure ahead. Our first stop was the charming village of Long Melford, where we wandered the quaint streets and stumbled upon some unique antique shops. The village itself is an absolute gem, with plenty to explore and admire.


In the afternoon, we made our way to the impressive Kentwell Hall. Although the house was unfortunately closed due to Covid restrictions, we were still able to marvel at its stunning Tudor architecture and picturesque moat from the outside. The walled gardens were a sight to behold, with perfectly manicured lawns and stunning floral displays. And the best part? We had the gardens all to ourselves!

 




 


                                               



After a relaxing afternoon, we returned to our hotel to freshen up for our anniversary dinner. The elegant, beamed gallery provided a romantic and intimate setting for a truly special meal. We savored every delicious bite and raised a toast to 27 wonderful years of marriage.

Singapore 2018. Day 11: Art trail to retail.........

We were typical Brits abroad this morning, a full English😱.The lounge is stunning so we took a little time to enjoy it. Reading of course. I just love the decor, it feels like it could be home to me. We visited the National gallery of Singapore today. We love art and we love Asia so it seemed like a perfect choice. The gallery was originally the city hall and the Supreme Court. It has now been restored and updated into a stunning gallery,  the new meets old. Not only was the building impressive the art was captivating too. There were numerous galleries displaying some amazing Asian art. Some of the water colours by Lim Chang Hoe would look lovely on our walls. His art was very interesting to us as he returned after a number of years to each place that he had painted and repainted them. Taiwan 2014 Day 2: A day in Taipei

Let me tell you about our adventure-filled day in Taipei! It started with trying to find a place to have breakfast. Taipei is full of quirky cafes but it seemed like they were all hiding from us. After a while, we finally stumbled upon a charming little cafe and got ourselves fueled up for the day ahead.                                                                                      Our first stop was the stunning Lin family mansion and gardens.
