Lake Garda 2022. Day 6: A date with James Bond

 A  relaxing morning then a quick ferry trip to Malcesine to hire a speed boat.Yes thats right some one wants to pretend to be James Bond. Unfortunately  the boats where all booked up so we had a few hours to look around the shops and relax in the piazza. When we did eventually get to hire our boat the water was very choppy. But nothing was going to ruin this romantic afternoon.We had seen so many couples and families return with big smiles on their faces and now it was our turn. Our excitement levels were high. 



It was a disaster it was the worse two hours of my life James Bond had no idea how to drive the boat. The water was so choppy I needed to hold on for dear life. James Bond kept cutting across the waves at full speed which almost made the boat turn over. When we returned to the shore I was soaking wet. I looked like I had been swimming in my clothes. Before our little adventure sitting in the Piazza  I honestly saw no one else get off the boat wet like I was, dripping and squelching. James Bond was dry, completely dry. We made our way back to Riva and got ready to eat in our hotel restaurant and drank copious amounts of cocktails no vodka martinis in sight.

Singapore 2018. Day 11: Art trail to retail.........

We were typical Brits abroad this morning, a full English😱.The lounge is stunning so we took a little time to enjoy it. Reading of course. I just love the decor, it feels like it could be home to me. We visited the National gallery of Singapore today. We love art and we love Asia so it seemed like a perfect choice. The gallery was originally the city hall and the Supreme Court. It has now been restored and updated into a stunning gallery,  the new meets old. Not only was the building impressive the art was captivating too. There were numerous galleries displaying some amazing Asian art. Some of the water colours by Lim Chang Hoe would look lovely on our walls. His art was very interesting to us as he returned after a number of years to each place that he had painted and repainted them. Taiwan 2014 Day 2: A day in Taipei

Let me tell you about our adventure-filled day in Taipei! It started with trying to find a place to have breakfast. Taipei is full of quirky cafes but it seemed like they were all hiding from us. After a while, we finally stumbled upon a charming little cafe and got ourselves fueled up for the day ahead.                                                                                      Our first stop was the stunning Lin family mansion and gardens.
