Slovenia 2019. Day 1: Our adventure begins .....

We took a taxi to Manchester Airport. It was a shorter drive than we expected just 1 1/2 hours. Surprise surprise our flight was delayed,  thankfully by only 30 minutes. After flying long haul for so many years it made a nice change having a 2 hour flight. We arrived in Salzburg a few hours later and we got to see our first mountain view in Austria.


We continued our journey for another 3hours and saw some amazing views on the way. We arrived at 
our pension in the dark feeling very tired but was greeted with a very strong eye watering 
Schnapps, definitely not my drink of choice. The room is very small and compact with a 80’s floral 
theme and green bamboo furniture.

It has been a long day so an early night ready for our exploring tomorrow.

Singapore 2018. Day 11: Art trail to retail.........

We were typical Brits abroad this morning, a full English😱.The lounge is stunning so we took a little time to enjoy it. Reading of course. I just love the decor, it feels like it could be home to me. We visited the National gallery of Singapore today. We love art and we love Asia so it seemed like a perfect choice. The gallery was originally the city hall and the Supreme Court. It has now been restored and updated into a stunning gallery,  the new meets old. Not only was the building impressive the art was captivating too. There were numerous galleries displaying some amazing Asian art. Some of the water colours by Lim Chang Hoe would look lovely on our walls. His art was very interesting to us as he returned after a number of years to each place that he had painted and repainted them. Taiwan 2014 Day 2: A day in Taipei

Let me tell you about our adventure-filled day in Taipei! It started with trying to find a place to have breakfast. Taipei is full of quirky cafes but it seemed like they were all hiding from us. After a while, we finally stumbled upon a charming little cafe and got ourselves fueled up for the day ahead.                                                                                      Our first stop was the stunning Lin family mansion and gardens. It was hard to believe that such a tranquil place existed in the heart of this bustling city.
