Singapore 2018. Day 4: A day of walking .........
Wow, what a day! We checked another item off of our "to eat in Singapore" list and indulged in some delicious Kaya toast for breakfast. The sweet combination of coconut, milk, sugar, and eggs on top of white toast was simply irresistible!
Then, we headed over to the Botanical Gardens where we had 180 acres to explore and get some inspiration for our garden back home ππ. The tropical plants were massive and there were so many different species to take in. The Park had numerous lakes and lots of sculptures dotted around. The hundred-year-old trees provided us with plenty of shade as the sun was beating down on us. We spent several hours wandering around the different areas, but our favorites were the bonsai trees and the orchid garden. The orchid garden is the biggest display of orchids in the world with over 1000 different species and it was simply stunning. It was like our own little Shangri La, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Singapore.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to a local hawker center for dinner. We knew we had to try the Singaporean Chili crab and some fried carrot cake, which are both must-eats when in Singapore. The Chili crab was so spicy and flavorful but so messy to eat that we had to wear gloves! The carrot cake was, unfortunately, not what Tim was expecting. He thought it was dessert, not a dish made with fried radish. Nonetheless, we enjoyed trying something new, well one of us did. π
We did a little shopping on our way back (Tim, not me ) and stumbled on a Japanese Matcha cafe, so this really was a perfect day ππΌππΌ We couldn't resist trying some of the cute and delicious desserts that Singapore is so famous for.
Finally, we ended our perfect day with a cooling evening swim, or rather, an evening float since we had eaten so much food. It was the perfect way to end an amazing day! ππ
Err what the hell is in those drinks guys?? The food looks awesome and the hotel is amazing
ReplyDeleteWe were in a Japanese cafe so Ali has a matcha latte green tea and I went for matcha green tea sundae which has absolutely no sweetness to it despite its look.
