Singapore 2018. Day 5: Our enlightenment begins....

This morning, we woke up a little later than usual due to a sleepless night. To give us the energy we needed to explore, we indulged in our favorite breakfast of paratha and sugar roti bomb. I paired it with my go-to drink, Bandung, which is made of evaporated milk and rose syrup. I can't get enough of it! and my suitcase is gonna get filled with it.

Before heading to Little India, we decided to take a quick look around Orchard Street, known for its high-end shops. Tim was in a great mood, probably because he was full from breakfast, and ended up spoiling me with two beautiful anniversary gifts made of Jade. I was over the moon!  πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜

It has been 10 years since we last visited Little India and little it is no more. It's big and very busy.

We visited several temples and mosques and found them to be both fascinating and spiritually uplifting. The Indian Heritage Center was also very informative, shedding light on the changes that have taken place in Singapore since the first settlers arrived.
We can see why Singapore is such a melting pot of diversity and tolerance.

Despite the sweltering heat, we managed to explore the city's street art, old merchant houses, and shops while stopping for refreshing drinks along the way. For dinner, we enjoyed a scrumptious meal of homemade butter paneer, naan, tandoori chicken, and papdi chaat. It's been a busy day, and we decided to head back to our hotel a little earlier than usual to rest up. After all, we're on a restful holiday, not Ali Tours.
